How long should you wait to go swimming between making any adjustments or chemical applications to your pool? I’ve heard anywhere from 1 – 2 hours to 24 hours. In my experience, neither of these extremes are good.
On my pool route in Arizona I would tell my customers to wait about 4 hours to go swimming after I made any adjustments. This gives the water enough time to absorb the chemicals, especially acid and chlorine.
What you don’t want to do is to immediately swim because you may hit a hot spot of acid or pool chlorine. This can put a stop to your day pretty quickly.
Wait 4 hours with the pump filter on and you should be safe.
